Alan Willsky's contributions to the field of information and decision sciences are both broad and deep. His early work on failure detection in dynamic systems is widely cited and used in practice. His more recent research on multiresolution methods for large-scale data fusion and assimilation has found application in fields including target tracking, object recognition, fusion of nontraditional data sources, oil exploration, oceanographic remote sensing, and groundwater hydrology. His book, Signals and Systems, co-authored with Professor Alan Oppenheim has been widely used throughout the world for more than 25 years.

This symposium brings together an exceptional set of speakers who represent not only Alan's intellectual impact on the field, but a community of researchers to whom he has been an instrumental collaborator and mentor.

Statistical Inference under the Willskyan Lens promises to be a vibrant and engaging event celebrating Alan's remarkable career. We look forward to seeing you there.

Best,
